Club
Crest
The club crest, commissioned and designed by local craftsman, Eamon Hogan, in the early 1980’s, depicts landmarks associated with the parish club team, popularly known as “The Village”. The heart of “The Village” lies between the area from the top of Patrick’s Street, where the old 14th century, St. Patrick’s gate stood to the centre of the old parish, where the village pump was sited in 1850. This area became a popular meeting place for locals, and especially a gathering point for “Village” teams, before the development of the club’s grounds at Larchfield. The pump fell into disrepair over the decades and but was restored in 1986. The arch was demolished in 1886 by Kilkenny Corporation to widen the road.
